Hi All
Currenly we have a buggy ePO 4.6 install running on Windows Server 2008 R2, we have over 90,000 workstations pointing to this ePO server, we want to replace this server as the server is no longer reliable
We have built ePO4.6 onto two virtual machines running Windows Server 2008 R2 server on ESXi, we have choosen two virtual machines so that we can spilt the workstation load due to diffrence in enviromental conditions.
1. What would be the best way to migrate workstation to talk to the new ePO silently from the old without any service disruptions?
2. How can we backtrack what policies are assigned to what tags?
Thanks,
Nandini
Hi Nandini
The best way would to register the new epo servers on your current production server, this will provide the option to transfer systems, tasks and policies.
Thank you Simon, would this still work if i was transfering to a new SQL database?
To use transfer funtions, both ePOs should be functional. For instructions about transfer the machines please refer to product gudie #PD22975 page 148.
Yes this would work to a new database, its a fantastic function
