Windows 10 Action Center and McAfee status integration; How?

Jump to solution

Hello Community,

I am administering an isolated network without any internet access which includes Mcafee ENS/DLP managed by EPO. I update the repository update directory manually every couple of weeks and then run update master repository and update clients.
I notice that Windows 10 Action center notifies that AV is out of date. How is Windows getting Mcafee status information if the network is isolated?

Thank you

If i had to guess the DAT or AMCore also has a date that is located in the registry somewhere.

The machines also have a date so tada that would be a missmatch there.

Best regards
Dan

Thank you.

Ok, so the OS knows that there is a mismatch between current date and DAT date.  But how does Windows 10 know when an update might be due if network is isolated?  Is windows action center assuming a daily DAT update?  Then this probably a Microsoft Windows question rather than a Mcafee question.

My goal is to identify a method to adjust when the Action Center provides an out of date warning to match my manual update schedule.  I do not want to turn off AV notifications.

I absolutely think so.

Guess MS is saying like 2 days gap is okay and anything else is not.

Maybe just give them McAfee guys a call they also should now it.

Best regards
Dan
