Upgrading ENS from 10.5 to 10.6

Jump to solution

Currently I'm runing  ENS 10.5. Do I need to create an upgrade task in ePO or just a regular task with all new ENS 10.6 components? I'm not sure how to create an upgrade task.

looking for some suggestions.

what version of ePO you're running?

5.9.1 but soon will install 5.10 (i am in Early Adopter Program)

I only get below when I create a task.

Its completely normal to do not see this option bellow.

Because you create a new deployment task for one machine (you are in wrong page) .

When you create a task to deploy some version of you repository like agent this is steps:

1.From software manager check version and branch.

(like pic bellow - current branch ver. 5.5.1.342 for windows)

1.PNG

2. From Product Deployment chosee agent from drop down menu.

(you have multiple choises regarding different branches)

After that you choose a targets to deploy this software

(multiple choises regarding system tree, tags, and etc)

and option is bellow on page

2.PNG

And one question, what rights did you have on this ePo server?

you could also use the new upgrade assistant module that has been provided with ENS 10.6 to manage the upgrade.

you can create a deplyoment tag for 10.6 and run it on machines with 10.5 to update ENS version

If you have a deployment task in ePo to install ENS and is checked "Automatically deploy latest version of the products " just check in 10.6 in current branch.

Where do you see this setting "Automatically deploy latest version of the products " in task deployment?

I found it ... thanks for the tip, I will play aorund with it.

I have a feeling, there are probably not much difference between this process and "Cleint task Catalogue".

You can also assign a single task from client task to multiple machines, group, or even assign your task to tag based deployment.

I'm ePO admin and also runing v5.9.1.

Client Task Catalog is based on deployment tasks when you create, except Deployment Task ( by Default).

Something like that (from my test ePo):

If you want to study more and more i suggest you to get some McAfee NetExam courses.
