Scanning of pst files

Hello, I noticed that ENS doesn't scan PST files, is there any option how to scan PST files with ENS on-demand scan? We have MSME on on-premise servers, but the problematic PST file is downloaded from cloud server.

Re: Scanning of pst files

Hi @Korny

Thanks for your post.

Unfortunately the ENS scanner will not scan within the PST.

Even if there is a pst file that has received an email containing malware(or eicar test file), it will not be detected because the pst file itself is not infected.

Re: Scanning of pst files

are you certain that an attachment in the pst file that contains a malicious powershell script will not be found?

Re: Scanning of pst files

Hello @Thyssenkrupp ,

As we can see on the article pointed out, it refers to the email scan tool within VirusScan Enterprise, it will scan within Outlook the messages and not the pst file directly.

As previously answered the attachments on an offline pst file can't be scanned without the assistance of the Microsoft Outlook email scan tool referred in the article for VirusScan Enterprise.

Hope this clarifies.
