Removing built in LiveSafe before installing ENS

Jump to solution

Hey,

I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to remove the built-in LiveSafe McAfee product we get with our laptops, I tried using the ERP but it couldn't detect it.

Thanks.

Hi @erez ,

Thankyou for reaching us on community!

McAfee Live safe is a Consumer product. As EPR tool is built only for McAfee enterprise products it might not be able to remove the McAfee live safe .
You should be able to remove Live safe from control panel or use McAfee MCPR tool.
More details on this is available in the below link :

I hope you find this helpful.

Hi @erez , I wish we had a quicker way, but as there is live safe and some traces of ENS on the machine, this will the only way to proceed.

Or else you will uninstall Live safe before installing ENS.

Hey!

I tried running the MCPR tool, but it doesn't work since that it detects that there is an ENS installed.

Yes, MCPR might not run if enterprise product is installed.

Can you try uninstalling LiveSafe from control panel first.

Also the ENS that you currently have in the machine would be partially installed because of the presence of LiveSafe.

You can try uninstalling ENS from control panel or EPR tool and reboot the machine. After reboot, run MCPR tool to remove Live safe (If control panel removal failed ) as mentioned in the article that is provided previously. Reboot the machine after using MCPR.

Now you should be able to install ENS as expected.

Hey,

Yes, I went with that way before I posted here since that's the only way that made sense...

I suppose that there isn't a quicker way to do this right?
