I trying to deploy RSD and I need to cover only about 10 vlans. I was thinking that I could setup a single server with multiple network cards, one for each vlan. I setup the server and added all the NICs, but I could not get it deployed form the ePO server. I'm not really sure if this will this even work?
I have a requirement to monitor all vlans and I have vlans with no computer, just network equipment, ESXi hosts etc. I don't want to spin up 10 Windows 7 Machines just to run RSD that is costly and increases management overhead. If RSD ran on Linux that would be better at lest no cost, but I don't see that as an option.
Is their any other option that anyone can suggest?
The agent will bind to the first available IP address provided by the operating system; you may have difficulties/unreliable RDS due to the binding order. Any servers within those vlans would be a good approach, or you could also deploy RDS on all or select few nodes within the 10 vlans (configuration/management overhead/unreliable) or spin 7 up (configuration/management overhead).
