Problem with Windows 10 Backup

Hi,

I've problem with Windows 10 backup (windows 7 method) - with installed McAfee Endpoint 10.7 this error occured: "Windows Backup failed to get an exclusive lock on the EFI system partition (ESP). This may happen if another application is using files on the ESP. Please retry the operation"

Everything is fine when protection is uninstalled.

Any solution?

Re: Problem with Windows 10 Backup

Hello @Former Member

Thanks for your post.

I would like to suggest you not to uninstall the ENS and try to disable it one by one to see which particular feature is causing this behavior.

Try disabling the  "Scan the Boot Sector" ad see how it goes.

Re: Problem with Windows 10 Backup

Hi @Dan2222,

Thank you for your post. May I know what version is being used. Is it the latest September update of ENS 10.7?
If Scan boot sector is disabled and the issue still occurs, I would recommend confirming that there are no other competitor Anti Malware software present on the machine.

Also, please remove ENS from the machine once to confirm that the issue does not happen without ENS on board.

If issue is confirmed to be because of ENS, please disable OAS and also disable the below option in OAS policy "and check.

If issue still persists, I would recommend a Service Request from there.
