Mcafee Engine 6000 will be deployed globally in October.I read KB article saying that "Scan Engine update occurs automatically with no option to opt out. No additional action is required to update the Scan Engine".By this I assume Engine will be included in the Amcore content for Ocotber. Is there any way we can opt out to install Amcore content only and then seperately deploy Engine in phased manner because if some occurs it will be better for us stop the deployment, check for solution and then proceed.
Can anyone suggest if we have an option to exclude engine from Amcore content so that we can deploy Amcore content and Engine seperately as pe rour requirement
You are correct in your assumption, its all delivered as one (AmCore content)package. Best thing I can advise at this point is to have the engine package check in/deploy to a test environment and see whether there are any incompatibilities observed with any of your inhouse applications/third parties in your environment (and if any are observed raise with McAfee support, so it can be researched).
So does it mean there is no way to delay engine 6000 deployment on the endpoints since it will be coming with Amcore content version?
I have run the Amcore content exe which contains engine 6000 on my system and installed it successfully. But next day when I checked my system engine reverted to 5900,maybe bcoz it has daily Amcore content deployed from EPO which contains 5900 engine but if that would be the case then how we can test the engine 6000 since it will be overwrite by daily Amcore content deployment task?
Is there any way to rollback Amcore content to 5900 from 6000 in case of any issue when mcafee will release it with Amcore content in October
