Maze Ransomware

Jump to solution

Does McAfee ENS or any other product blocks "MAZE" ransomware?

I found the below link, but no other information.

https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/threat-center/threat-landscape-dashboard/ransomware-details....

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Sohel ,

Thank you for your query,

If you has specific hashes we can look into those. However, the most recent publication getting attention for Maze is the following:

http://www.rewterz.com/rewterz-news/rewterz-threat-alert-maze-ransomware-iocs

Of the 27 hashes listed, 26 of those are detected by current DATs or have added detection via the attached archive.

The loan remaining sample is detected by Artemis/GTI as Known Malicious.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Sohel ,

We can guide you on this detail based on the Hash of the file. You can even upload the hash on virustotal and it will show you in which category McAfee is blocking that virus.

All virus or ransomware has different variant with or without similar names, so it is important to have the hash of that infected file to know if we have detection for same. lets assume if that is a new variant which is not getting detected by the product then that sample can be uploaded to labs to make it detected.
