Endpoint Security 10.6.1.1124 - Self-Managed
Attempting to update virus definitions from the Security Updates page using the latest V3 Virus Definition Updates (DATs) V3_3773dat.exe [07/18/2019]
On running the V3_3773dat.exe file on laptop (Panasonic Toughbook CF54-J mk3, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC v1809) the CMD Window appears stating that the "AMCoreDat starting" then closes immediately - no update taken place.
Attempted running file as Administrator, Endpoint just installed, manual updates only possible as machine has no network access.

I would check you are using the correct product. We downloaded 'McAfee_Endpoint_Security_10.6.1.1340.1_standalone_client_install' and we are now able to update the product with DATs. The interface of the product also has better settings, tools and options.
You may want to check your root certificates are up to date: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=kb87096
Following that, check that ENS services are running via CMD (launched as admin):
C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\SystemCore>mmsinfo.exe -enum
I have yet to try the above, but thought I would add some more information.
The Operating System Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC V1809, which may be significant as I also have the same problem on a HP ProDesk 400 of same OS build.
I have also downloaded the latest update definitions to try too (V3_3793dat.exe).
Every now and again (with either machine) when repeatedly trying to run the file the CMD Window that appears stating that the "AMCoreDat starting" also displays "Error: PerformContentInstall failed to find InstallPath from registry".
Perhaps this information can assist.
I'm having the exact same problem. Working with a standalone asset and the dat.exe isn't working. Command line appears for a split second then is gone. Did you resolve this? If so, what was the issue? I ran the suggested command and all the services were running except, mfeensppl, which was stopped.
