MVision or Endpoint Security as a replacement for Endpoint Threat Protection.

Jump to solution

I am currently running Endpoint Threat Protection in standalone environments. I do not use EPO. This product is at end of life. My question is knowing that I prefer not to run EPO but install and run in standalone environments which product would be best for me, MVision or Endpoint Security?

Thank you,

Howard

Hi @hmbdtx

MVISION Endpoint requires MVISION ePO and can't be used as a standalone product (https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/mvision-endpoint-product-guide/page/GUID-F831BD46-C118-4E12-BBB8-D70A...)

Endpoint Security consists of multiple modules. One of which is your traditional AntiVirus (Threat Prevention). You can then add ATP (Adaptive Threat Prevention) which helps protects against zero-day threats.

MVISION Endpoint utilises Windows Defender for the traditional AntiVirus detections and the MVISION Endpoint itself provides enhanced scanning for the items that Windows Defender does not see as a threat.

In regards to which one is better for your environment - you may want to speak to our Sales Team who will be able to advise and guide you on this question.

Thank you for the prompt reply to my  question.

Can either product run in standalone mode not requiring EPO?

Which product do you believe would be the best fit for a small IT shop?
