Latency in Windows File Explorer

We have McAfee Agent 5.7.2.162 and ENS ATP 10.7. We are currently experiencing latency when users are opening files of various types on File Servers throughout the organisations which is likely to be on access scanning. The file servers have various AV standards inc VirusScan 8. My question is, how should you configure scanning of server based files. Is it more efficient to scan on read/write on the server or the client?

HI @cybercop

Thanks for reaching out to McAfee Community.

Based on the provided details, it looks like you experience latency when opening files on File server.

I request you to follow the documents below and identify the ENS or VSE components in the machine and see what is the actual cause.

You can add exclusions accordingly on both servers and Work stations accordingly.

If any issues, you can let us know and we can assist you further.

Re: Latency in Windows File Explorer

The latency first appears when you open the explorer window as mapped drives etc are being populated? There is no actual blocking going on.
