Issue with OnDemandScan_Activity.log

Hello,

I'm using Endpoint Security 10.6.1.1068.

At the end of the scan my script analyzes OnDemandScan_Activity.log.

My workflow is: download v3_xxxxdat.exe file. Execute it using  Task Scheduler. It works fine for one PC.

Today I installed it on another PC and ran the file. For some reason OnDemandScan_Activity.log  was generated but have only 1 line: (see attachment: oneline.txt). Note: it took a few seconds only to run.

When I execute scan from the console .. I've got OnDemandScan_Activity.log as I expected i.e. with the whole content. (see attachment multiple_lines.txt). Note: it took 10 minutes to run.

Hence my question:

Why I don't see the whole content of OnDemandScan_Activity.log  and how to fix it?

Well … I think I found the solution myself ..

I noticed that on another PC where it was working fine … I did not execute v3_xxdat.exe from command line. I rather scheduled the job from Console - Settings.

Hence I did the same on this PC and it generated the log file as I expected.

It looks that I forgot that running v3_xxdat.exe  only update the 'current' version and the scan should be configured from inside the Console.
