Installation task completed but ENS not installed

How could I troubleshoot this situation, I deploy installation task with ENS (thread prevention, web control) task completed successfully and on client computer ENS is not installed, even after client computer restart ENS is not visible in installed windows programs.

On EPO in system client it shows only installed:
-DXL_____1000 5.0.1.249
-Agent 5.6.1.308
-MCDATREP1000 1.0.4.385

Re: Installation task completed but ENS not installed

Verify the task was received on the client end. This can be done by looking at the Agent Status Monitor or in the masvc log on the client.

If you've verified the client task as received and was started, then you should see some installation files created on the machine. If ran by ePO then these are in C:\Windows\Temp\McAfeeLogs

If you find files here, then you can use the following steps to look for the failure reason, if you need assistance, I strongly recommend raising a service request with support and providing these log files:

Open the installation log location and sort files by date and time > you'll want to look at the first installation-log present and for ENS this will be the Common Installation log first.

Open the first installation related log i.e. Common_Install.log and scroll to bottom, you will see the installation failure code i.e. “return code: 1603” (all MSI installation error codes are listed here, https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa372835(v=vs.85).aspx)

If you do see 1603, then scroll back up to the top of the log file and search for “value 3” (the word value may be different pending on log language). The first entry you find shows you point of failure.
e.:
!> Error - SysCore install failed: 255
<= leave custom action Install_SysCore()
CustomAction Install_SysCore returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
Fin de la acción 12:28:11: InstallExecute. Return value 3.
MSI (s) (98:70) [12:28:11:908]: Note: 1: 2265 2: 3: -2147287035 >> with these entries “Error - SysCore install failed: 255” and “-2147287035” you can search on the agent portal for errors

It may also point you to look at another log file, in which case you can go to the mentioned log file and search for "error" or "fail". Again you can then search for these in agent portal.

Re: Installation task completed but ENS not installed

Let's say I send successful task to client at 12:10, but any log files do not create in C:\Windows\Temp\mcafeelogs\ at the same time.

It create only three log files at time 12:14 :
"McScript_deploy"
"McScript_error"
"McScript"
inside \\client\C$\ProgramData\McAfee\Agent\logs

here is McScript_error file:

How could I rise service request with support?

Re: Installation task completed but ENS not installed

If there are no log files in that path, then it's likely the installation didn't work. If it showed as successful on ePO I would suggest you check that what you are installing is compatible with the OS  you are deploying on. Which OS do you have and which ENS version are you deploying? (please be as specific as you can).

Also check the mcscript deploy log for any errors... check for words like fail or error

Re: Installation task completed but ENS not installed

Windows 10 version 10.0.18362 is this supported? As I read here:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB85784

is supported.
