Installation of ENS 10.7 September 2021 uUpodate fails

Jump to solution

When attempting to install ENS 10.7 September 2021 Update, the installation fails. The MSI log in question is for setupCC, and the entry is for Common. Could not create the service 1359, mfeesp.

The Windows Application log shows eventID 1000 (0xc0000005) for macompatsvc.exe version 5.7.4.399, offset is 0x0008785f.

The windows version is 1909, standalone, I am logged in as an administrator who has rights to manage audit logs. Any ideas?

Hi @iTEd ,

Thankyou for reaching us on community !

For Troubleshooting ENS installation failure, i would recommend you follow the steps mentioned in the below article:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB87589

I would recommend you to check if updating root certificates help in resolving the issue. you may follow the steps below  :

  1. Go tot the below KB article :
    https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91697
  1. Download any one of the following attachment from the article.
    DigiCert_USERFirst_VeriSign_Comodo_GlobalSign_and_USERTrust.reg.txt
    DigiCert_USERFirst_VeriSign_Comodo_GlobalSign_and_USERTrust.bat.txt
  1. Rename the file by removing the ".txt" at the end :
    DigiCert_USERFirst_VeriSign_Comodo_GlobalSign_and_USERTrust.reg
    DigiCert_USERFirst_VeriSign_Comodo_GlobalSign_and_USERTrust.bat
  2. Now run the .bat file or reg file on the machine to update root certificate.
  3. Reboot the machine -> check if the issue still persists.

NOTE:
There are chances that old traces of ENS is left of the machine due to previous installation failures. Hence, will have to run Endpoint removal tool on the machine to erase old install failure traces would block further installation.

In case if you need assistance in this, i would recommend contacting support team by opening a service request.
