Installation ens failed

Hi,

I have attached the logs with the errors of the software.

I have tried a few things:

1. Run the removal tool, which always gets stuck on removing "MFP", however is it not installed and not running. I have tried killing as many Mcafee processes to no avail.

2. Tried removing "minRSAPubKeyBitLength" as described here https://kb.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91559

3. Uninstalling McAfee Livesafe, which gives the error "refresh page"

4. Deleting McAfee folders from C:/program files C:/program files (x86) C: /Program data

5. Run the Preinstall (says server not reachable)

I'm on windows 10 64 bit, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Re: Installation ens failed

Hi @Former Member,

Thank you for your post. With the help of the logs, I identified the elbow error:

[11:13:56:144] - Warning: Certificate UTN-USERFirst-Object - not found in Root. (Kan object of eigenschap niet vinden)

Looks like the machine does not have a certificate needed for our product to get installed. I would recommend following the below KBA to resolve the issue:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91697

Pleas run the attached reg or cmd file on the machine and try the installation again.

I sincerely hope this helps!

Re: Installation ens failed

Hi

Thank you for the link. It fixed the warning.

Installation still fails however, i attached new logs.

[13:28:43:993] - The file "C:\ProgramData\McAfeeTmpInstall_Common\mfehidin.exe" is signed and the signature was verified.
[13:28:43:993] - Error "Er is een fout opgetreden tijdens het lezen van of schrijven naar het bestand

Translation: There was an error with reading or writing file
" validating "C:\ProgramData\McAfeeTmpInstall_Common\mfehidk.sys"
[13:28:43:993] - Exit code will be 4294967295

Do you think this line is making it fail?

Re: Installation ens failed

Hi @Former Member,

Thank you for your update. Those errors could be an issue here. There could be multiple reasons here, I can think of the following 2:

1) Since you have just faced an installation failure, I would recommend running EPR tool and reboot the machine before attempting installation again (the previous install attempt may have left remnants on the machine).

2) I see this from Sysprep log: Detected injector [C:\Users\saski\AppData\Local\Temp\TeamViewer\tv_x64.dll]

This would usually point to presence of dll injections. I would recommend uninstalling Teamviewer just to confirm if that is the reason behind the installation issue.

If neither of them are resolving the issue, I would recommend creating a Service Request to have this investigated at this point.

I sincerely hope this helps!
