Import and Export of rules and settings

Jump to solution

Hi, am I correct in the assumption that there is no way to export or import settings and rules in Endpoint Security without the ePolicy Orchestrator? I am unsure on the pricing of that product, but it would strike me as rather crazy to have to purchase that product simply to manage configuration of one unmanaged computer without a local network. At the very least the inclusion of, say, XML-based configuration files for more advanced users would be very helpful. Adding individual IP addresses or hostnames to firewall rules via the GUI, one at a time, has taken up a lot of valuable time.

Thanks

Jesse

The ENS config can be export/imported via the ESConfigTool.exe tool.  See the docs.mcafee.com reference page for this command.  Importing the policy is only possible with the non-plaintext results.
