Import ENS settings during or after stand-alone installation

Jump to solution

Hi guys,

Is there a script or changing an XML file so that we can change the ENS setting while having stand-alone installation? I mean I would like to deliver the ENS stand-alone package to some users but they are unable make the necessary changes. Even if there is a way to export a sample policy and import it after the installation, that would be fine and works for us.

Thank you in advance.

Hello @Former Member

Your scenario is not 100% clear from where do you plan to get those policies?

If you are thinking to modify something in original standalone installer that you download from our website, that is not possible.

However, it is possible to create custom package with custom installer and also custom policy configuration using:

*** How to use the Endpoint Security Package Designer
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB86438

Also it is possible to export policy from one ENS client and import it into other using build-in ENS tool:

*** McAfee Endpoint Security 10.7.x Installation Guide (Create a custom settings file to import during command-line installation)
https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/endpoint-security-10.7.x-installation-guide-windows/page/GUID-60643D5B-47C4-41E0-A0C2-34FC89600CCB.html

I hope this helps.

Hi ,

There is no option as such . We cannot make any changes to an XML files manually. Changing the policy content is to be made only via the ePO.

Export the policies (make sure that the extensions are the same on both ePO instances):

  1. Navigate to the Policy Catalog and click Export.
  2. Download the file as XML.

Export and import policy assignment rules : https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/epolicy-orchestrator-cloud-product-guide/page/GUID-DCDBDADB-0393-4267...

Thanks
