How to exclude a running process from on-demand scan

Hello everybody,

I have a trivial question - how to exclude a particular running process from being ODS (on-demand full scan) scanned with Scan locations="Running processes" in the policy.

Tried to add a process executable to exclusions, but the running process was killed anyway (and the executable was also deleted)

i see only one way: exclude "Running processes" from Scan Location in the policy. But unfortunatlly this is not an option.

additional information - i'm using McAfee ENS 10.7, McAfee Agent 5.6.6, McAfee ePO 5.10 (Update 9)

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Grigoriy

Thank you for reaching out to McAfee community.

The exclusion mechanism is discussed in the document below.

Re: How to exclude a running process from on-demand scan

Thank you,

But do I understand correctly that I can't exclude a particular running process from on-demand scan with having "Scan running processes" switched on in the policy?

I haven't found a best practice guidlines for this case.

Re: How to exclude a running process from on-demand scan

I'm going to try "Exclusion by Detection Name"....

Upd: This one is also not acceptable, because it excludes by the Threat name - not by the running process name 😞
