How do I perform a one-time one-demand scan with ENS for Windows?

I found this for ENS for Linux: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB89768&actp=null&viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_U...

And I found this for the CLI for ENS for Windows: https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/endpoint-security-10.7.x-common-product-guide-windows/page/GUID-EC617...

However, the latter seems to require me to specify a custom scan id?! I just want to scan a file from the CLI, in Windows?!

Hi @billmoller,

Good day to you!

You will have to modify an existing task through the command line to scan a single file using the /target switch.

With the custom on-demand scan command-line interface, you can run a previously defined custom on‑demand scan with new settings, without changing the settings of the original custom scan.

Additional switch and its related information are available in the below article.

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/endpoint-security-10.7.x-common-product-guide-windows/page/GUID-EC617...

I hope this helps,

Regards,

AJ

Re: How do I perform a one-time one-demand scan with ENS for Windows?

Thank you, @AjaySundar , however when I do this, the scan seems to run asynchronously, requiring status checks to determine the result.

Unfortunately, in my (most?) scenarios, when I perform a CLI scan, I need to to block (run synchronously) and return an error code.

Thank you
