How MVISION endpoint detect ransomeware

HI

As we are running both Windows Defender & MVISION Endpoint on WIN 10 machine.
If I disable Windows Defender can MVISION Endpoint detect malwares & ransomewares.

Is ther any option where we cant disable Windows defender?

Also there should be small Console for MVISIOn endpoint (on client machine) where we can check what it block.

thanks

Madan

Re: How MVISION endpoint detect ransomeware

Hi @madan1133,

Thank you for your post. McAfee MVISION Endpoint delivers enhanced
detection and correction capabilities to augment native Windows OS defenses (primarily enhancing Defender). Hence it should be used with Windows Defender and any is not recommended to be tried standalone.

Defender can be enforced from being disabled via GPO and the management policies are offered by MVision cloud console to enhance the protection.

It is very important to note the exact working of MVision Endpoint described here for your kind perusal:

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/mvision-endpoint-product-guide/page/GUID-F831BD46-C118-4E12-BBB8-D70A...

I sincerely hope this helps.

Re: How MVISION endpoint detect ransomeware

1.If ransomware attack happen on machine how MVISION endpoint remediate?

MVISION Endpoint is a light version security product which is integrated with Windows Defender. MVISION Endpoint manages the Policy for Windows Defender using MVISION ePO Console. MVISION Endpoint does not perform scan related operations, it is all taken care by Windows Defender.

2. How it will rollback  data which encrypt by ransomware?
  • Please be informed that McAfee doesn't offer rollback assistance for encrypted file. Requesting you to get in touch with our Malware team to know more about decrypting data files which was encrypted by Ransomware.
  • You may also get in touch with our Professional services for decryption.

Re: How MVISION endpoint detect ransomeware

HI

We not received any answer to this query. As we cant see any option of ransomeware rollback in MVISION endpoint and windows defender.

But as we see in Sentinal one option of rollback on screen (as attached)

Kindly immd release next ver where it shows rollback .

OR send us how MVISION endpoint & windows defender rollback if machine got infected by ransomeware attack.

thanks
