High memory utilization on Windows 7 endpoints running ENS 10.6.1

Jump to solution
We have Windows 7 systems with McAfee ENS 10.6.1 For a few weeks now we have seen an increase is users reporting slowness. Upon visiting these users, we find that their RAM usage is anywhere from 75% to 100%. It does appear to be some sort of memory leak. The vast majority of systems are HP G2 SFF systems. TrustedInstaller and Mcshield are the top processes System Information McAfee Data Exchange Layer Version number: 5.0.2.130 Build date: Thursday, August 01, 2019 DXL Connected State: Connected McAfee Agent Version number: 5.6.2.209 Status: Managed ePO Server/Agent Handler McAfee DLP Endpoint Version number: 11.3.0.172 Language: English (United States) McAfee Drive Encryption Agent Version number: 7.2.9.5 Tychon Endpoint Version number: 1.7.520.10 McAfee Endpoint Security Version number: 10.6.1.1607

Hello @mtiernan

Do we know which specific process is holding up the memory? If it is specific to mfetp/mfeatp/mcshield process then my suggestion will be to install October update or the December update. You can see the article https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/endpoint-security-v10-6-1-release-notes/resource/endpoint-security-v1... which talks about the memory issues we have fixed.
