High disk usage - C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\Engine\content\avengine

Please can I understand why this folder has around 55GB of data. Numbered folders with 3 files in each going back 2 years approximately?

I can't delete these. I can't take ownership.

Appreciate how to clear this folder please?

Product is Endpoint Security v10.6

Server 2008 R2 Datacentre

Thank you

Re: High disk usage - C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\Engine\content\avengine

Hi @Wayneywoo ,

The following folder may have multiple revisions of DAT.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\Engine\content\avengine\med

Usually it shouldn't be more than 3. As these files are protected, it cannot be deleted normally.

We've seen this issue with older version of 10.6. Please try the following as next steps.

1) Use Endpoint Removal Tool to uninstall the current version.

2) Re-install the latest supported version of either 10.6.1 or 10.7

We would suggest to reboot after uninstall & reinstall as well.

Let us know how it goes.
