Hash value coverage details.

how we will come to know that the List of hash value I am having has coverage against those values in current DAT file. Regards, Ankita Khanloskar

You can check for coverage on Virustotal.com

If you need any further information on the detection status or in regards to the Malware Type, then you can raise a Service Request with Technical Support.

If you are using ENS, coverage is not strictly hash based.   It includes generic, family-based signatures to detect variants previously unseen of known malware.

There's also reputation-based detection when comparing to GTI and when utilizing ATP there is also capability for behavioral-based detection. This is one reason why hash alone is not the standard for confirming coverage as the reality is much more complex than that--it's just a starting point. 🙂
