Full Scan pausing and resuming

Jump to solution

I have Mcafee Endpoint Security 5.5.1.342 instaled on the clients computers and I configured on the McAfee Server to run a Full Scan on the clients every sunday.

One user started to complain about the slowness when using on work days. I checked the Microsoft event viewer and find out that the Full Scan is running and sometimes it pause and resume few minutes later, is doing this many times.

This computers have some bad blocks on the hard drive but it didn't cause any problem before.

Can be that the bad block is causing this on the McAfee scan ?

On the event viewer of the McAfee show nothing.

@Luiz_Felipe I believe the build number that you've highlighted is your McAfee Agent build and not the ENS build number, could you please clarify what version of ENS you're running? Regardless of version, in the event that you have "Scan only when the system is idle" selected within your policy, then this pause and resume behavior would be expected. If you would prefer the scan continue regardless of idle/active state, then you will need to modify your ODS Full Scan policy section to "Scan anytime."

Hi Luiz,

1. You have not provided the ENS version but MA version.

2. You will need to change Scan only when the system is idle" in the policy, the behavior would be expected if this was selected, so change it.

3. Please modify the policy and set to scan the machine during off business hours.

Hope the above information helps.

Regards,

Venu
