Re: Firewall rule for printers discovery

Hi @Former Member,

Printers Discovery should usually work with the SMB ports. Its by default open in McAfee Firewall.

Anyway you can try the following on a local client system to figure out the ports.

1) Open McAfee Endpoint Security.

2) Click on down arrow next to Update Now > Choose "Settings"

3) Select Firewall on Left  and click on Show Advanced on the top right.

4) Under Tuning Options > Check Enable Adaptive Mode.

5) Click Apply to Save the Changes.

Use Printer Discovery, it should work. Now repeat the above steps till Step 3. Then click on Rules under Firewall.

Expand Adaptive, and you should have a new rule here with the Ports that needs to be open.

Uncheck the Adaptive Mode (Steps 1-4) when done.

Thanks
