Error after manual pattern Update

We are using standalone version with McAfee ENS version 10.6.1.1815 and threat prevention version 10.6.1.1881 while manually installing the pattern, pattern installation got successful but after installation we noticed an error in McAfee OAS ODS settings. The error is "Error in Loading settings"

After reboot problem got solved. Is it a known problem or is it a bug in McAfee ENS?

Re: Error after manual pattern Update

Hi @Former Member

Many thanks for posting on the Community.

When performing an upgrade a reboot is required in order for all the new/ upgraded drivers to be properly loaded. It is very possible until that reboot that you encounter some issues. So I'm afraid it's neither an issue nor a bug - This would be somewhat expected behaviour.

Re: Error after manual pattern Update

Thank you for your reply!!

we are not upgrading McAfee, we just updated the Pattern. For a new installing a new pattern , a reboot is not required.

Please advice!!

Re: Error after manual pattern Update

Oh I see - you are performing the AMCORE Content Update and afterwards seeing this issue. What happens during the AMCORE Update is that our services need to be restarted to load the new content. I suspect that something went wrong when trying to restart them and hence you encountered this issue until you rebooted.

Re: Error after manual pattern Update

Hi @Former Member ,

The known defects information did not have this issue at the moment.

Have you tried restarting the ENS console? If this doesn't resolve the problem, you probably need a reboot. If you have updated AMCore content and this issue occurs every time, could you try reinstalling the product?

If the problem does occur, then I think a deeper investigation into this issue is needed. We recommend using the latest version of the ENS product and requesting a technical support with a new service request.

Best regards,
