Endpoint Security Threat Prevention : Policy Category > On-Demand Scan

Jump to solution

Dear All,

I have multiple ODS schdeules which I have not migrated and hence I would like to use the Policy Based On Demand Scan for better governance from the ePO.

However, I could not rename or make any changes to the multiple ODS except onething I can change is from the policy. How can I have multiple Policy Based ODS with different names in the client task. I do not have multiple names in the ODS policy as I think it is of no use.

Kindly advise.

Hi @vnaidu

If you use policy based tasks, the system will run the ODS task with the assigned ENS ODS policy. It is therefore only possible to configure one full scan, one quick scan and one right click scan task. For any further tasks you wish to run, you'll need to use a custom based task.

Thse are our best practices for ODS scans within ENS:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB74059

To achieve these, some custom tasks would be needed.

@chealey

So this looks like bottle neck for some novice admin who could not understand. In my case, I am using one full and quick ODS scans breaking up with multiple schedules across the groups and sub groups.

Is this a good practice.
