Endpoint Security Storage Protection installation fails when deployed through ePO

Good day,

I have Mcafee ePO 5.10.0 (Build 2428) installed on a windows 2022 server.

On a managed system (also windows server 2022) I have agent version 5.7.6.251, Endpoint Security Platform 10.7.0.1285, Endpoint Security Threat Prevention 10.7.0.1399 and DXL 6.0.3.646 deployed.

Whenever I try to deploy Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.1.0 it fails. the agent log just gives:

Framework Service 6/21/2022 1:56:05 PM Info Error occurred while installing ENDP_SP_2000

I checked the logs in the McAfeeLogs folder, none of the logs there seem to show the error for this install. 

Some assistance would be appreciated.

Hi @KavZ ,

Thank you for posting in community forum. While installing ENS Storage protection 2.1.0 the version of ENS Platform should be 10.7.0.3199.1 and Threat prevention should be 10.7.0.3210.1.  The reason why your installation is failing is because of older builds of Platform and TP modules.

Kindly upgrade these two modules and then try to install Storage protection.

Use the command-line interface to customize installation of Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.0.x. You can specify commands when creating McAfee ePO deployment tasks. You can also run setupEPSTP.exe using the Windows command prompt on the endpoint.

This solved my installation issue.

Now it seems the ICAP scanner is not working. I will troubleshoot a bit and come back with more details.
