Endpoint Product removal silent deployment options?

Jump to solution

So, I got the ENS removal tool from McAfee support because some of our machines are still running ENS 10.1.2, which for some reason the ePO doesn't like, and breaks the install when you try and use the product removal packages for 10.5.x, leaving uninstallable products behind.

Anyway, I'm trying to create a deployment package with PDQ, is there any silent parameters for the ENS removal tool? like /q or --quiet or something?

The tool runs silently already if you run from command line.  To use the EPR tool at command line, you must include the --accepteula switch, and then add a product switch (e.g., --all, or --ens, etc.)

See the product guide for more details (if you don't have it).

Hello,
a query how can I open the graphical interface?
When I put in the command line "none" the application is not executed and shows error.
What is the command that I have to put?

If you want to launch the application with the interface, you can double-click the application executable and the GUI will open.

I am trying to do this via Desktop Central.

It seems to work with the commands you listed above, -all -accepteula and the agent does actually seem to have been removed, although it forces a restart and then the configuration fails and in epolicy the device is still showing as managed.

Any ideas, does this need to restart or can I tell it not too?

Hi @ZachDaly,

Thank you for your post.

Automatic removal of Agent/System from ePO is not possible when you are using EPR tool for removal.

ePO based removal can facilitate the same for you.

Automatic restart can be avoid by using the switch "--noreboot".

I sincerely hope this helps!
