Hello
hope you're doing well.
I'm facing a big memory issue with McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention 10.7.6.43. On an Ubuntu 20 laptop, it uses more than 5Gb of memory !!!
I've been checking the logs files but I can't really find which folders causes this huge consumption. (/var/McAfee/log/tp/mfeoasmgr.log - var/McAfee/log/esp
Does any of you would know how to know which folders read/write causes this memory leak?
Thanks
D
Solved! Go to Solution.
FYI, we have uninstall and reinstall, added /var/Mcafee/* to exemption list and now it works well and only uses 50Mb memory...
which is much more reasonable... 🙂
thanks for help

Hi @GJGVA ,
Thank you for your post. Please provide the following details.
1) Which service in particular utilizes high memory?
2) Does the usage goes down when the system restarts & then gradually increase after?
3) Was McAfee recently upgraded?
4) How many systems are affected?
5) What is the Kernel version of the affected system?
Thanks

Hello
thanks for your reply
1) mfetpd
2) It was just increasing and was fixed at 5Gb. Now since we started investigating, it goes up to 6Gb and then crashes and restarts again over and over.
3) We deployed 10.7 recently
4) we have an unique Linux device for a dev
5) 5.11.0-36-generic ubuntu 64bits 20.04
Thanks
