ENS: Cant's update AMCORE via ePO

Jump to solution

Hi guys.

What the problem can be with such error log in ePO?

I have a few Server Windows with old AMCore and they can't be updated due to this error: "Product(s) already running the latest version: Update Failed". But the latest version is 3575.

@Schopenhauer If you are seeing the message "Product(s) already running the latest version: Update Failed", then it is likely that the repository which these systems are attempting to pull from is out of date by the same number of days that the ENS client is.

I would advise reviewing your Master Repository pulls and/or Agent Handler/Super Agent Distributed Repository replications to confirm that they are up to date first. Then, if they are, look to test resinstalling/upgrading the McAfee Agent as it is possible that it's having difficulty reading the information necessary for it to facilitate a successful update.

@Schopenhauer

I would like you to perform the below checks and let us know.

1. What is the version of your Windows Server, McAfee Agent?

2. Does the servers have enough space?

3. When was the last AMCore update?

We look forward your reply.

@vnaidu

1) Windows 2008 R2, v. 6.1 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2012, v6.1/6.2/6.3
1.1) Agent Version 5.0.6.220

2) Yeap.

3) The last successful AMCore update was on 01/02/2019.

@Schopenhauer Thank you for the answers.

Please be informed that AMCore updates are handled by the McAfee Agent. The only reason it could be failing from an ENS perspective is if the ENS services aren't running. To rule this out, I would like you to perform an EICAR test, if this is success, then the most likely thing would be to check your McAfee Agent settings.

If you still have the issue, then I would like you to check the masvc.log under c:\programdata\mcafee\agent\logs will show if the task invoked or not.  If it did, then the mcscript log will show the errors for it updating
Please check the masvc log for when the task invoked.  Then find that time frame in the mcscript log.  You will follow that update process through the log to see if it was able to pull the content from the repository or not

If you need our assistance, you can enable debug logging for the agent and ask our McAfee Agent team colleagues to take a look: https://kb.mcafee.com/agent/index?page=content&id=KB82170.

I hope this would be helpful to drive this towards a resolution.
