ENS 10.7 upgrade impacting IIS Service and application pool.

Jump to solution

Hello,

Has anyone ever encountered an issue where the IIS Service is impacted during the upgrade of ENS?

This occurred only twice that I am aware of, yet in both cases, it occurred on two different critical application servers. This first time was when I upgraded from VSE 8.8 to ENS 10.6. The second was when I upgraded a different server from 10.6.1 to 10.7.

I am under the impression it is more likely to happen during a major upgrade. The current Application Log displayed the following:

Source: Microsoft-Windows-IIS-APPHOSTSVC
Event ID: 9009

Description: The Application Host Helper Service encountered an error trying to delete the history directory 'C:\inetpub\history\CFGHISTORY_0000000032'. The directory will be skipped and ignored. Note that the directory may still get deleted in the future if the service restarts. The data field contains the error number.

Thank you.

Hi @Glenn_Bolton,

Thank you for your post! I am afraid there has been no known issues reported as such where ENS causes conflict with IIS recently that I am aware of. However, It is best to check if the issue can be reproduced and perform a component isolation to figure out which feature would be the cause behind the issue. Since this would require further investigation, I would recommend having a support ticket created with us for this instance.

Saw a couple of really old ones have performance issues with 10.5 and exploit prevention, but not since.
