Hello,
it`s more like a publicly logged complain!
update for 10.7.0 to 10.7.0 February (was really worth it for wasting time to confirm by adding "February" instead of 10.7.1 ?) is just a massive slam
<big numbers> Workstations FAIL to update various Components ! more that 30% Failure rate for each component at random.
Dear community:
1) Do I needs wasting time trying to fix this .... or leave as it is expecting, possibly, a Stable release in another 2-6 months?
2) what would you recommend as approach to resolve <McAfee unknown issue>?
Hi @Sec-Ops
Thank you for posting on the Community. I'm surprised to hear that you are having such a high rate of installation failures. Have you been able to identify the reason for these failures? If not, have you been able to work with our Support Team to identify the reason?
At the moment, there is no plan for 10.7.1 - the major branch 10.7.0 is still expecting further updates and these would be the upcoming releases. Generally speaking you need to evaluate if the latest release contains fixes to issues that you are seeing in your environment or not. Our official advice is always to use the latest so you can benefit from known issue fixes as well as other code related improvements.
Directly in regards to your questions: If there is any issue you are seeing, that we are unaware of, we can't fix it unless our internal tests or other customers report the issue. This would mean that potentially you will encounter the same issue in a later release. It would be best to work with us (via an SR logged with Technical Support) so we can identify the cause of the failure and either provide you with a solution that may already been known or work with Engineering to improve the product and fix a potentially unknown bug.
