ENS 10.6 Firewall rule for Miracast

Jump to solution

Dear Community,

I am trying to allow Miracast to run local on a PC by creating an exception rule in ENS firewall policy to allow the IP address range 192.168.137.0-255 with connection type wireless and virtual and set the rule as the highest priority.

The problem now is that inside the company's network the policy is working but not outside it although the policy is always applied. What am I missing here? Please advise, thank you.

Hi Stefan80,

Thank you for your contribution.

The problem proved to be the system firewall and not the McAfee. As soon as it is disabled on the client Miracast is functional.

Maybe this helps?

You have to add these 3 IP subnets for miracast:

192.168.16.0/24

192.168.137.0/24

192.168.179.0/24

Typical it´s use this ports:

  • 5353 – UDP
  • 7236 – UDP and TCP
  • 7250 – TCP

Then it works fine.
