Can you use the ENS 10.6 standalone product and then manage it via ePO

Jump to solution

We want to create a pacakge that we can give to the helpdesk that will install the McAfee ENS Theat Prevention and then the McAfee ePPO Agent. We have a package that we use with VirusScan 8.8i with Patch 11.

Just want to know if you can use the ENS 10.6 standalone product and have it managed by ePO?

Also, is there a command line parameter that can be use to install just Threat Prevention silently? We are not interested in Web Control or Firewall options.

Tweenden,

Q1.  Install the Agent after installing ENS.  Works with bare metal installs and SCCM.

Q2.  Use the command line installation parameters with SCCM to limit what you install.

Yes, this is possible.  Just install the McAfee Agent (from your ePO server) after ENS to put the McAfee Agent Service (which is installed by the ENS product in Unmanaged mode when using the standalone installer) into Managed mode.

Also, is there a command line parameter that can be use to install just Threat Prevention silently? We are not interested in Web Control or Firewall options.

Yes, please see the ENS 10.6 Installation Guide, page 16, section Installation (SetupEP) command-line options.
