Analyze error log

Jump to solution

Hello.

Before I was using VSE which generated log OnDemandScanLog.txt. My script parsed the log and searched for the line 'detected'. In case 'detected = 0' it sent me email than nothing was found.

ENS does not generate one log but rather a plenty of different logs and based on documentation it has the log file named EndpointSecurityPlatform_Errors.log.

Again ... my goal is to use a script and verify that last scan did not find any issues. Currently I don't see this file in my Log folder.

Hence here's my question:

How could I be confident that last scan did not find any viruses:

1. my assumption is that the file EndpointSecurityPlatform_Errors.log will be generated in case of any error. Is it correct? Than I could simply to check if  the file exist

2. any other criteria or 'keywords' that I could search for the issue?

Thanks in advance

P.S.

Well ... I found a file OnDemandScan_Activity.log which has the content similar to the log file in VSE. It has a line called 'Files with detections : 0'. I think that I could search for the zero. Does it make sense?

OnDemandScan_Activity.log can be used to find if there were any detections similar to VSE.

EndpointSecurityPlatform_Errors.log will logs all error messages logged in other ENS debug logs.
