Amcore updated to 0.0

After upgrading to endpoint security 10.7.0.1733 and threat prevention module 10.7.0.2021, my client machines appear to no longer have an am core content version in Epo properties. When I try to run update now for any of these machines, the logs show that the amcore version has been successfully updated to 0.0. On demand scanning also seems to be disabled for these machines With the error Message “unable to contact scanning service”. Are we still covered?

Hello , 

Clearly the ENS is in broken or perhaps its in partial state . Kindly perform a reboot and if that does not help proceed to reinstall the ENS on the endpoint .

Some additional information :

This issue occurs when AMCore content has not yet been updated after installing the product.If its shows 0.0 that means the AmCore is in its initial state .

> You may try to perform the manual update by downloading the AMCORE executable from McAfee Security updates site and run it locally on the machine .

For “unable to contact scanning service” message , this indicates the the Scanner services are not yet started . You may confirm this by performing a EICAR test on the endpoint .

We strongly recommend to Reinstall the ENS to resolve the issue .
