Adding multiple hashes in Access protection rule (ENS)

Jump to solution

I have like 200 hashes that need to be added in the Access Protection Rule, is there any way to do that automatically instead of adding them one by one?.

Hi @VTavernier

Unfortunately there is no method to add a group of hashes all at once automatically. Your best bet here would be to submit this as a Product Idea at: https://community.mcafee.com/t5/Business-Ideas/idb-p/business-ideas

Thanks,

I found a sort of workaround in the Exploit Prevention Policy Expert Rules, it does block the file based on his MD5. Is there a limit on the hashes we can add ?.

With this:

Rule {
Process {
Include OBJECT_NAME {
-v *
}
}
Target {

Match FILE {

Include MD5 {

-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2a"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2b"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2c"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2d"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2e"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2f"
-v "9f06a55ab589386c3ef4a437d9b4ac2g"

}
Include -access "CREATE READ EXECUTE"
}
}

}

Hi @VTavernier

There is no hard-coded limit to the amount of hashes you can input into an expert rule. You might start to see performance issues if the number of hashes becomes extremely excessive, but you should be fine based on what you're looking to accomplish here.

Do you have a TIE server?   Using TIE with ATP would be much more effective.
