Access Protection Rule triggered

Jump to solution
SAFESERVICE.EXE on the exchange servers is triggering the threat 'Prevent Modification of McAfee Files and Settings by untrusted default processes' There is no such access protection rule to be able to add the process exception. I have added the process into the 'low risk' processes and exclusions into the 'Prevent modification of McAfee files and settings' however the rule is still being triggered and logging the events

Re: Access Protection Rule triggered

The mentioned rule is a self protection rule - not an access protection rule. These rules are in-built into the product and you can't modify them.

If you do however need to add exclusions, you can do so within the ENS Common policy. There is a section in the advanced settings for self protection process exclusions. Be mindful when adding entries here, as you are specifically allowing processes access to our services, meaning they can stop them etc.
