6100 Anti-Malware Scan Engine update for Endpoint Security

Jump to solution

The 6100 Scan engine is not located here http://update.nai.com/products/commonupdater3

for me to evaluate it before the throttled date. I did a pull task, but I don't see the 6100 Engine.

With Endpoint Security the Scan Engine is built into the V3 virus definitions.

See the link below on how to test.

Hi @kblowe

That is indeed correct. ENS updates the Engine via the Content Update. By checking it in to the Master Repository you will only be able to update systems using VSE.

For ENS installed systems you will see the Engine automatically deployed per schedule in KB92669. This KB also explains how you can already evaluate the engine though. Take a look and if you have any questions, please feel free to revert back.

Checking in the Engine into the master repository doesn't update the engine on the systems. I tried updating the Engine alone and nothing. Is that normal? The engine will only update using the DAT pulled from that source site. Please shed some insight on this.
