Removal Tool

I believe we are not a customer to McAfee, but i found the following products installed on a user's laptop and is unable to remove it.

- McAfee Endpoint Security Platform 10.6.1

- McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Protection.

Whenever the user launch command prompt, chrome, windows explorer, the McAfee Endpoint installer runs and encounter the error "Detection of product '{21A798B9-A5A1-49D7-9F96-CC8B14F7EAEF}', feature 'x64' failed during request for component '{EA99D1E8-1963-4295-8EF8-BCC25CCD37E5}'"

I have tried the following.

- removing from Add programs and features

- Windows 10 Apps and features

- get the uninstall string from regedit Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.

Run the uninstall command, it runs but program is still there.

Could you supply me the removal tool so i can remove the programs?

I have read this as well ( but nth works. could you help? Tks.

Re: Removal Tool

Hello @alvinyip80 ,

To Download the removal tool you need the Grant number which is with Mcafee Customers.

There is one more option you can try to remove the product from your environment.

  • The following information is intended for System Administrators. Registry modifications are irreversible and could cause system failure if done incorrectly.
  • Before proceeding, Technical Support strongly recommends that you back up your registry and understand the restore process. For more information, see:
  • Do not run a REG file that is not confirmed to be a genuine registry import file.
  1. Press Windows+R, type regedit and click OK.
  2. Navigate to one of the following registry keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Node/McAfee/ePolicy Orchestrator/Application Plugins

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Node/NetworkAssociates/ePolicy Orchestrator/Application Plugins
  3. Select the key for the product that you want to remove. For example, ENDP_GS_1070.
  4. Right-click Uninstall Command and select Modify.
  5. Highlight the text in the Value data field, right-click, and select Copy. For example:

    "C:\Program Files\McAfee\Endpoint Security\Endpoint Security Platform\RepairCache\SetupCC.exe" /x /managed
  6. Click Cancel.
  7. Close the registry editor.
  8. Press Windows+R, type Run, paste the contents copied from step 5 into the Open field, and then click OK.

The product now uninstalls.
