Hello Dex,

First check if the registry files are still present on the system or not . If yes then delete the registries from the system or you can take the system into safe mode and then try removing it. Restart the system once and check if you have are able to remove the HIPS.

Registry Location:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\

Check in this location if mfe drivers are still present if yes then follow the above procedure to remove the HIPS.

Hope this will help you to resolve the query.

How are you running the tool? On which OS?

If you are running it via the GUI, I would attempt via CMD instead.

Thank you for your quick response. I am afraid Server 2008 is not supported by the removal tool. However, 2008 R2 has the genes of Windows 7 essentially meaning that the tool should run fine on that. Any OS version running 2008 R2 or below would not be supported by the removal tool.

Have you tried grabbing the uninstallation string from registry and running that?

You would usually find the string under the below key against the product name:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Hope this helps!
