Endpoint Product Removal Tool # BlueScreen Inaccassible Boot Device

Hello,

we have on some systems a BlueScreen after using the product removal tool (19.5.0.14 --accepteula --ENS --noreboot)
BlueScreen after reboot: Inaccassible Boot Device

We can fix the problem when we change the follow regkey an delete the entry "mfedisk"
-> HKLM\System\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
and delete under "UpperFilters" the value "mfedisk"

Have you an Idea what is wrong? Bug in the Removal Tool?

What does the key "mfedisk"? It is a problem when we delete this from that systems?

thank you
regards
Robert

Re: Endpoint Product Removal Tool # BlueScreen Inaccassible Boot Device

Hi Robert

Thanks for reaching out to McAfee Community. I believe this needs Engineering investigation to be carried out regarding the reported issue.

Please run the later version of EPR 19.8 and see if the issue occurs.

We apologize for the late reply but I suggest you to raise SR with our support channel for further investigation with our Engineering.

Also if you using ENS, mfedisk is not a part of running processes. Please refer to the KB.

When we specifically refer to the MFEDISK, it looks like VSE used this drive and there was known issue in the past and we fixed this in Patch 6. KB below for reference.
