We have upgraded the DE 7.1 to 7.1.3 on Lenovo Thinkpad 10 which is running Windows 8.1.
After successful Up-gradation we are experiencing below issue:
1. External keyboard not working at PBA
2. Key repeat too fast at PBA(Screenshot attached)
For external Keyboard issue followed below troubleshooting steps:
1. Disabled/enabled USB in BIOS
2. Always enable pre-boot USB support option enabled in policy
Still External keyboard not working
For Key repeat too fast at PBA issue followed below troubleshooting steps:
1. Adjusted the keyboard settings in Tablet but that doesn't made any difference.
Issue is only at login screen. once the device booted into windows keyboard works normally.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Jhall2, As per the below thread I have followed the suggested steps and it worked, but at next reboot I have to follow the same steps the make external keyboard to work. https://community.mcafee.com/message/375192#375192 Appreciate if you could provide a permanent solution:
What version is your Hardware Compatibility XML file?? You can see it on Server Settings - Drive Encryption.
You should update this file every time McAfee releases a new version. Yesterday was the last update, number 38. Your file is too old.
I hope it solves the issue, check it and let me know.
Important> this file is added to PBFS when you deploy the encryption software, so you need to decrypt, uninstall software and deploy again to have the last version included.
Were you able to find a permanent fix for this? We had luck with going into the BIOS and saying load defaults even though the defaults were already loaded because it's a test machine. It looks like the encryption installation overwrites the Lenovo drivers for the pre boot environment and reloading the defaults in BIOS pushes them back out to the proper location.
