Will EEPC 6.2 be able to use hardware encryption for Crucial M500 SSD?

The Crucial M500 SSD specs say that it is OPAL 2.0 compliant, but not backward compatible with OPAL 1.0.

Does this mean that EEPC 6.2 would not be able to utilize the onboard hardware encryption, and would implement software encryption leaving the M500 SSD unlocked?
