I know you probably get tired of this question, but do you have an expectation to when this patch 2 will be released? I wont hold anybody to it, but still nice to have an idea.
I just wanted to make a clarification, Encase have had the information they need to provide decryption capabilities within their product for EEPC6 for many months, and originally I believe planned to release support the middle of this year - but, the roadmap is theirs, not ours.
dwebb's team is working on expanding the capabilities, to add a few new "ease of use" options, but the work they are doing for patch 2 is not to solve a technical limitation preventing Encase from supporting decryption of EEPC6 drives.
If you're an Encase customer who needs support for decrypting encrypted drives, whichever product, the best place to discuss this is with Guidance Software themselves, as only they can add support to Encase - it's not possible for McAfee to do that for you.
Thanks for the clarification/correction Safeboot......indeed the work being done for 6.1 Patch 2 is to provide an integrated solution for EnCase.
It is still perfectly possible for an admin to export the machine key from EEAdmin in versions < 6.1.2 and manually put that into EnCase to decrypt the drive.
