I am testing deploying EEPC on a few platforms.
The latest was on a Dell Latitude E6500 with Windows XP SP3.
After deploying the agent and client, when the user reboots his sound does not work. There are no errors in the logs anywhere and the device shows up as "This device is working properly" in device manager yet there is no sound. This is an "IDT High Definition Audio Device". I can get the sound to work by disabling the device in Device Manager then re-enabling it.
Anyone else experienced this?
I'll be opening a ticket but thought I'd start here...
But according to help:
|Enable Accessibility||This option is highly helpful to visually impaired users. If selected, the system gives a beep as a signal when the user moves the cursor from one field to the next.|
I'm sure that OP does not want that function, but rather operational sound device once OS is running, not in pre-boot.
Thanks for the suggestion but as mentioned above, that option should have no bearing. My case was opened yesterday and escalated to Tier III yesterday. I'll keep ya'll posted on their findings.
I am in the process of encrypting another E6500 running Win7 x64...don't expect to experience same issue as all my Win7 x86/x64 tests have resulted in flawless EEPC tests.
