Policy to Encrypt USB Devices

Hi - We are using  DLP Endpoint, and End Point Encryption. We have created a policy that forces a USB drive to encrypt before a user can write to the drive.  We now have a scenario where a user will need to write to a USB drive that is encrypted by another application (non-McAfee) will the user be able to write to this drive or will McAfee want to encrypt it based on our policy?  What will be the impact of moving files to the USB drive with existing encryption and our policy forcing encryption?
