Old school Safeboot decryption

Hi All,

We still have a few users on the old Safeboot 5.1.3.

We need to decrypt a laptop hard drive but only have the hard disk. USing Safetech disk , Code of the day and the users SDB file can I either :

1, Put it in any laptop and use th SDB file to decrypt ?

2, Put it in a external caddy and decrypt ?

I have done this before using the same model laptop and decrypting in that but haven't gt one to use tat the moment !

Thanks

Re: Old school Safeboot decryption

basically yes. The instructions differ depending on which option you choose though. Automatic "removal" will only work for 1.

Re: Old school Safeboot decryption

yes it will "work", but the automated remove button won't as your disk numbering will be messed up. You'll have to use decrypt sectors and restore MBR AFTER picking the right drive etc.
